Our Story
The Spark
Frustrated by the cost and limitations of hardware modular synthesizers, our founders envisioned a browser-based platform that could bring modular synthesis to everyone.
First Prototype
The first working prototype emerged - a simple oscillator and filter running entirely in the browser using the Web Audio API.
Growing the Platform
Expanded rapidly from initial modules, added workspace saving, cable management, and implemented real-time multi-device collaboration features.
Developer Community Launch
Opened the module creation framework to developers. First third-party modules created within weeks.
Mobile PWA Release
Launched Progressive Web App with full mobile support, bringing modular synthesis to smartphones and tablets.
AI-Powered Workspace
Launched the Workspace AI Assistant - a 7-step pipeline that builds complete patches from natural language descriptions. Integrated LLM-driven module selection, cable routing, and parameter tuning powered by a knowledge base of 388 module capabilities.
Multi-Model Audio Generation
Introduced text-to-audio generation with automatic model routing between MusicGen, Stable Audio, and TTS backends. Smart genre detection, prompt optimization, and built-in audio analysis with tempo detection and quality scoring.
420+ Modules & Multitrack Recording
Module library grew to over 420 types - from classic analog emulations to experimental AI-driven synthesizers. Added full multitrack DAW recording with piano roll, mixer view, automation lanes, and stem export.
GPU Queue & Production Hardening
Dedicated GPU queue system for audio generation ensures zero VRAM contention with real-time queue position tracking. Comprehensive undo/redo system across modules, cables, and parameters. Continued expansion of the AI pipeline and module ecosystem.
